The T400-4 amplifier is perfect for front/rear fading stereo systems or when dedicated amplification is required between front stage speakers and rear subwoofer(s). Thanks to the Dynamic Thermal Management, the small chassis design ensures it can be installed in any location--like under front seats.

Rockford Fosgate Power Series Amplifiers

Power > Size. These compact amps deliver the same gut wrenching power as its big brother, but their chassis designs are up to 40% smaller. DTM (Dynamic Thermal Management) allows efficient heat transfer that minimizes physical size and enables installs under seats and other compact areas when abundant power is required.

CEA-2006
Power ratings on Rockford Fosgate amplifiers conform to CEA-2006 industry standards. These guidelines mean your amplifier's output power ratings are REAL POWER numbers, not inflated marketing ratings.

Differential Inputs
Differential input circuitry measures the voltage of both the (+) and (-) input signal. The circuitry subtracts the voltage common to both conductors (noise) resulting in only the clean signal. This allows only clean signal to enter the amplifier.

DSM
DSM utilize 1% tight-tolerances improving efficiency of the circuit, decreases cross-talk from other discrete components and lowers operating temperature.

Dynamic Thermal Management
Heat is often inefficiently dissipated across a heatsink causing "hot spots". Rockford Fosgate engineers have developed an award winning cooling design called DTM. This patent pending design seamlessly manages the output of power supply temperatures, while evenly distributing the excess heat across the entire amplifier.

MEHSA3
MEHSA3 (Maximum Efficiency Heat Sink Application--gen. 3) reduces MOSFET temperatures, lowers distortion, increases durability and prolongs the output device life span.

NOMAD
NOMAD (Non Multiplying Advanced Decision) is a "real time" analog computer that protects your amplifier from shorting speaker wires and dangerously low speaker impedances.

Punch EQ2
In the early 70's, Jim Fosgate studied the acoustical properties of automobiles. Utilizing a real-time analyzer and pink noise, he would graph out the acoustical characteristics of each car he tested. Jim discovered three problems that were common to all cars: a midbass hump between 100-275Hz, a steep roll-off of high frequencies from 2kHz up to 20kHz, and reduced bass response below 50Hz.

The Punch EQ on-board equalization circuit helps correct for these acoustical deficiencies in the listening environment. When set to Low-Pass(LP) operation, it becomes a variable Bass Boost. When set to High-Pass (HP) operation, it acts as a variable Mid-Bass and Treble Boost. When set to All Pass (AP) operation, both Bass and Treble frequencies are boosted.

Rockford Fosgate Avatar
These Avatars are a personal signature from the Rockford Fosgate team member who designed and engineered this fanatic product. This statement illustrates Rockford's commitment to being Designed and Engineered in the U.S.A.

TO-247 MOSFETs
Rockford Fosgate amps use custom TO-247 MOSFETs. These have 60% more metal tab area for more power capacity, lower impedance and improved heat dissipation over traditional TO-220 MOSFETs found in competitor amps.

TRANS·ana
Trans·ana (TRANS conductance Active Nodal Amplifier) simplifies the signal path of the amplifier allowing the signal to travel through the amplifier at a lower voltage. The result is greater reliability and exceptional sound quality.

5Everything I was looking for!

Wait until this bad boy is in your hands. It is so heavy that you think you are holdomg an amp twice the size. Sound is clean and crisp. Worth every penny.

5All the power you need! 4.8 rating overall
By alaskanseminole
I upgraded my Punch P200 2-channel amp and I have zero regrets. In fact, I wish I had this amp all along! This is one STRONG Amplifier!! There is more power here than I need, that's for sure. I have the rear channels running in mono on 2 ohms and it pushes my Punch 10" sub to perfection. The front side is running in stereo on 4 ohms pushing four Fosgate 5X7s. The sound is super clean and LOUD!

Only Con: While the amp is very stylish looking, it has no connector covers to conceal wiring like the P200-2. That would have made this amp a solid 5 star for me. Instead I'm giving it a 4.8.

Bottom Line: After 20 years of Fosgate loyalty I'm thoroughly impressed with this Amp!

5OMG...I'm speechless....

Tiny amp, INSANE amount of POWER...
I have built sound systems for many people and have heard many amps. I've tried JL Audio, Kicker, Phoenix Gold, HiFonics (and their other brands, Crunch, MB QUORT, AutoTek) and lesser brands like Power Acustik and Performance Teknique. Some of the amps I've tried are high powered to the point where I questioned their ability to provide clean and loud music while maintaing a low profile and keeping cool.
My car is a 98 Cadillac Catera and I had taken off the stock Bose system out of my car and replaced them with Rockford's 6.5 Components all around. The amp that powered all this was an Alpine MPR-300. Don't get me wrong, the Alpine kicks ass for being such a small and powerful amp, but the Rockford Fosgate T400-4 just blew it in every way.

First of all, installing it was easier than the Alpine. Everything feels worth the price with it's overall build quality. The terminals are probably one of the best I've used (unlike the JL 500/1 allen wrench style screws that become stripped over time). You need a screw driver and done. Nice and secure!

Once I;ve had everything connected, the amp just screamed...I haven't even began to tune it yet to my stereo. It was loud and distortion free. I wasn't satisfied yet how it was tuned and then I began to tune it myself with the SMD DD-1.
-OMG...
This even scared me how good this amp truly is. Everything sounds even nicer, distortion free, louder. This amp really brings new definition to my ears.
What I really like about the amp is the ability to keep it's cool. That's really the best since I like to play my music very loud.

Yes...this amp is a little pricy, but it's well worth your money and I highly recommend this amp to anyone interested into getting a good amp to start off with.
